The Night Watchman

The stories I have narrated in this volume are, in the main, about an age gone by. They tell of a time and people who have almost disappeared, or at least the circumstances in which they lived. My stories are about people I grew up with, they were mainly of Celtic stock, Irish, Welsh and Scots together with the English, who made up te majority of the population at that time. They blended together to form my vew of the world.

Many of the stories have a humourous side to them but they also record sadness and a nostalgic and simple way of life. In the main they are the lives of people who worked on the docks, in the factories or those who hoped to seek adventure by joining the Merchant Service in times of war and peace.

All of my books are also available as eBooks.
